Greer occupies a small portion of southwestern Oklahoma that it received shortly after statehood on 16th November 1907. Its county seat is Mangum although towns such as Granite, Hollis and Lone Wolf are situated across its 2 600 km² (1000 sq mi) expanse. In 2019 an estimated 6 400 inhabitants called Greer home according to figures taken by the United States Census Bureau estimates; making it one of Oklahoma's least densely populated counties.
