Sullivan County is located in northcentral Pennsylvania and has a population of 6300 people. It covers an area of 425 square miles and its county seat is Laporte. Sullivan County was founded in 1847 as part of Lycoming County and there are several small villages located throughout the county including Dushore, Eagles Mere and Hillsgrove. The economy consists of primarily agriculture but also tourism as there are many outdoor recreational activities such as hiking trails, biking paths and kayaking opportunities on local rivers.
