| Village of Sussex - 2/20/2015
The village is a very nice place to live, although it could be expensive depending on where you live.It has a nice family atmosphere. You're only three phone calls away from contacting just about everyone in the village. We do not have a Police Department but Waukasha County has it covered. Living here for 6+ years and living on main street the police and fire departments seem to be very active. (fire department is two blocks down the road). But, the fire department does take care of a larger radius around Sussex as well. They are very quick to respond and are all volunteers! The towns activities are very nice with parades throughout the year and a very nice half hour long fireworks display on 4 July. The weather is okay, but the winters are too long for me.if you like hi humidity in the summers and sub zero temperatures in the winter this place has you covered! Wisconsin is one of those states where you say "if you don't like the weather right now wait a few days it will change". Our Gov. Scott Walker has made quite a few changes moving the state in a more aggressive role in the Midwest! Creating jobs and reducing government red tape! It really is a wonderful state to live, if you love the outdoors and the weather that the state brings it is a paradise!!!

| why i like wisconsin, why i don't like wisconsin - 8/4/2013
wisconsin to me is a very friendly state. actually people are a little too friendly most of the time..... they kind of get in your business a little too much for my money. but they really are friendly. they are very nosy and act like they know you wherever you go in wisconsin. so that is why i used as my subject title why i like wisconsin and why i don't wisconsin..... it just depends on the day. i guess i would have to say that 99% of the people in wisconsin are super friendly. they would go out of their way to talk to anyone just for the sake of talking. there is no stranger in this state. i have lived here for 18 years. it is a nice quality, this friendliness. (but sometimes i want to be left alone) lol.

| Recreation in Southeast Wisconsin - 1/17/2011
Living in southeast Wisconsin provides access to a variety of recreational opportunities. The Milwaukee area has a large and extensive county park system that includes a variety of outdoor activities from golf and hiking to waterparks, fishing, and the Lake Michigan waterfront. There are also numerous other outdoor areas and activiities within just a few hours driving distance that includes historical (Old World Wisconsin), hunting, boating, fishing and skiing outlets for anyone who enjoys being outdoors. Also within a few hours of driving are some of the better known tourist tourist areas such as Wisconsin Dells and Door County. Finally, just 75 miles south of the Milwaukee area lies Chicago which provides the "big city" activities in contrast for those that prefer the urban setting and travel.

| You get what you pay for and you get a lot in Wisc - 2/2/2010
I think Wisconsin has it all. Four beautiful seasons (though yes by March I am ready to see some green too) and the best services that tax dollars can pay for. We have great schools, great state and local services, and limitless opportunities. I have been in states with no sewer systems, where you have to buy stickers on every bag of garbage, where the schools are crumbling, and state parks, etc. are an empty field. I will pay my money and live here any day.

very nice in summer, although humid.
Winters cold as expected; the worst is spring and fall
compared to most other parts of the country.

| state of wisconsin - 4/3/2009
wisconsin is fine. The weather is colder than I like, more than I like but I do enjoy all 4 seasons. I live close enough to the cities to get culture and traffic if I want it.

| General Wisconsin info - 11/10/2008
Winters can be brutal. Beautiful natural resources throughout the state. Milwaukee charm (culterally diverse, summer festivals, parks on the lake, a bit of a small town feel with city "stuff" and Chicago near enough if you want bigger). Rest of WI has little diversity.

We had over 100 inches of snow this last winter. They are predicting even more this year. In addition, mold and other allergens are rampant.
