| Great little stop along the travel route - 10/12/2008
Where to begin:
With a kid in college in this town I have access to all the good and bad opinions. Have you ever heard of Homemades By Suzanne? Great Deli for eat in or take out. Richmond people love to come up for that and for Ashland Coffee and Tea, a rustic coffee hangout for cyclers and students and profs. At night it comes alive with live music, often well known artists like John Hammond! Great coffee and quiche, btw. The Iron Horse Restaurant has very good food with both a casual area and formal dining. I've seen great jazz there while the train rattles the building every 15 minutes. Lovely streets for strolling, biking and running. Pretty little parks, great neighborhoods. Everyone knows each other and enjoys a great relationship with the college.[more...]

| Wonderful Liberal Arts College - 10/12/2008

Richmond also offers culture, nightlife and art walks for the students. Ashland Coffee and Tea brings in known musicians for the college and surrounding communities - even Richmondites. The Amtrack Station is within walking distance for students to get to the DC hub, and out from there.[more...]
