Copperopolis, a Great Place to Live! - 4/9/2007

My wife and I along with our 4 children have lived in Copperopolis since 1996...And we absolutely love it here! Very low crime, good weather, there are a couple of very warm months during the summer (not unusual to top 100 degrees), but there is virtually no humidity at all, spring and fall are perfect, and the winters are extremely mild. There is a nice lake (Lake Tulloch) for boating and fishing right in town, plus several others less that an hour away. Saddle Creek (an award winning golf resort) is located here in town. We also have horseback riding here too. Snow skiing, you have two resorts to choose from (only 50-65 miles away) and there are quaint gold rush towns nearby that welcome all visitors (Murphys has become the new Napa Valley of wineries). Yosemite National park is just an hour and a half away, Lake Tahoe as about a 3 hour drive and there is much, much more! Copperopolis has a small town feel (where people know you name), we even have the post office call us when we have a COD package coming, just to be sure we are home. We have a great grocery store (plus mini-marts), several restaurants, multiple resorts & marinas, hardware stores, and specialty stores, and the ammenities are increasing...Castle and Cooke (the creators of Saddle Creek Resort) have begun building what will be a "no expense spared" pedestrian shopping and dining hub called the "Town Square" it will have the feel of an old western/gold mining town. The town square will be comprised of 30 new buildings with 233,000 sq feet of space! Major big box stores are located in Sonora (20-25 minutes from Copperopolis), or Stockton and/or Modesto (both about 45-50 minutes away).
