Extremely High - 3/9/2013

It is very hard to make ends meet unless you are in the upper class. Growing up we had the best place to live. A great Town. Now we are a city that is being taken over by high prices on EVERYTHING.

DANBURY ROCKS!!! - 9/20/2012

I think Danbury would be a great place for anyone to live!!! I don't and have never personally lived there but I live in the town of new fairfield, which borders Danbury to the north, and I spend most of my time and have most of my friends in the city of Danbury. I love Danbury because the people there are all very nice. You will walk into a grocery store and people will actully help with finding something and won't be rude to you or ignore you, and generally, the people are way nicer and more fun than the kids in my town or adjacent towns around Danbury in my experience, and the city is actually quite diverse. There's actually alot to do if you know how to have a good time. There's a mall, and a few clubs, theres alot of public shopping plazas to hang out in and many kids around to hang out wiht. everything is very close together and in walking distance and there's pretty much sidewalks everywhere (unlike my tonn, where you have to drive everywhere :() I think it would be a great place to live for a person of any age, whether your raising a family or even going to college (there's even a great college in danbury called Westconn which has a very cheap tuition especially is if u live in connecticut). Danbury is a great little city with lots to do and will provide a fun and safe environment for you and your children, so come to DANBURY TODAY!!! oh and by the way , people will tell you that there is a problem with illegal immigrants, but in my opinion, yes there are probably alot of them in Danbury, but honestly there not hurting anyone and there just poeple like you and me and there not out to get you so I don't think they detract from living in Danbury at all).

Living in danbury - 2/16/2010

We have been living here for just one year, so I don't know a lot about Danbury. It is colder than NJ, where I have spent most of my life. Also, it snows more. The area is pretty, with trees all over, and lots of small hills. Everything is very convenient. You can find just about any store right within the town.

Danbury, CT - 11/21/2009

The crime rate is very low compared to other cities/towns of its size. For the most part, the people are friendly. Typical New England weather. There is much history here. There is just about everything you could want here. It is very diverse with many immigrants from Portugal, Ecuador and Brazil as well as other places. It's a great place to be from.

SANCTUARY CITY - 3/19/2009

Danbury, in my opinion has many neighborhoods that have become gheto's,that are rapidly expanding. The Police are under staffed. The Hospital, Library, Schools, Parks, and Main Street have become over-run with Illegals. I have lived in Danbury for 15 years and want to Get Out. The median home cost is $317,000 and declining. Attorney General Richard Blumenthal does not take action & ICE needs to do alot more RAIDS. DEPORTATION, The Only Solution !!!

Can't Wait to Leave - 5/14/2007

As someone before me put it so well, "We moved into Danbury almost 6 years ago. Since then, particularly after 9/11, there seems to have been a population boom. Local traffic has increased dramatically and the roads are inadequate. 5 new expensive "luxury" Condo complexes have gone up within 1-2 miles of ours. There are plenty of chain restaurants and a great mall. Overall we were happy here but can't wait to leave now." The only change I'd make to that is that I've been here 7 years and was happy for the first two, but because of the reasons above, particularly the EXPLODING over-development of mostly condos and "cluster houses", and the resulting environmental damage (especially runoff and flooding), I would have liked to have left AT LEAST 2 years ago!!

Great housing values, just about an hour from Manh - 5/1/2007

A few minutes over an hour due north of New York City, you'll find Danbury, CT, gateway to New England. This historical city, cradle of America's hat manufacturers at the turn of the last century, boasts a multicultural environment and very affordable housing prices. Come visit!

Danbury is a nice place but the houses here are not good. The rent is exorbitant and the houses are old. Also be prepared to pay atleast 250$ for Power in winter and 200$ in summer. regards Anand
