Can't retire here - 9/8/2008

I was born and raised near Flemington. I love the countryside, the weather, the people, and the jobs. But it has become prohibitively expensive to live here. Houses have replaced most corn fields, bringing us from an agricultural community, to a crowded one. More houses means more kids means huge increases in property taxes. More houses also means more crowding and more people on the road.[more...]

The town is growing - 8/2/2006

There is a lot of growth, sky-rocketing real estate values, pretty decent schools. There really isn't much to do yet though, but the growth should bring in more entertainment.[more...]

Nice place to live but...... - 6/22/2006

Flemington (Raritan Twsp) is a very nice place to live and send you kids to school. besides what everybody else's opinion of NJ being an exit off the NJ Turnpike. The Fleimington area is a rural, bucolic area going through a real estate growth boom over the last 15-20 years. Many major Corp especially Parmacueticals are nearby as well as Princeton University. However the housing and Real Estate taxes are totally ridiculous. By the last article I read NJ had the Highest Real estate taxes in the country due to our screwed up form of government.[more...]
