Pretty good place but its changing - 10/25/2008

My Wife and I have lived in Foxborough for more than 14 years. We moved from the Boston area to buy our first house here. It is a great community in an excellent location. Providence RI is 20 minutes away and Boston is about 35 minutes. There are also numerous commuter rail stops within 10 miles. Patriot Place (the stadium)has many new retail shops. This quaint town is getting busier but still has alot of charm. Housing prices have fallen and a decent "starter" home can be purchased for around $350,000. There are plenty of entertainment options in the area, many rival city venues. Many of The statistics listed on this site are incorrect, the town is actually closer to 17,000 residents and the median house price is more like $365,000. Snow fall is much higher is much higher than listed. To summarize, it is a great small town in an excellent location with lots of entertainment options.[more...]

Foxborough Lifestyle - 12/24/2006

Although we are growing, we recently installed a couple of new traffic lights throughout the town and there is talk about developing a "mixed use" shopping area along Route 1 which will be known as Patriot Place. The new Foxborough Police and Fire Safety Building is underway as well as new homes and apartments where there once was the old abandoned State Hospital. We still roll up our sidewalks early but if you enjoy a carefree and simpler lifestyle you will not regret moving to this small town also known as "the gem of Norfolk County". [more...]
