Honky tonk tourist trap - 6/22/2019

Beautiful location as far as proximity to mountains, but town is very honey tonk, commercialized, bumper to bumper traffic, basically a tourist trap.

Will move to Gatlinburg this summer - 5/7/2013

I have been coming to Gatlinburg couple times a yr for yrs. I love the area, the mountains, fishing and the people. The hustle and bustle during the Tourist season and the quite time during the off season. I said when I retire I will move there. I have no reason to stay in Va.

Moving to Gatlinburg to retire. - 5/5/2013

I am recently retired and have plans to move to Gatlinburg this summer and I need some info about Apts, part time jobs to keep busy and social. I am visiting the end of june to tie some things together. I have loved this place for yrs as I have visited it many many times. Whats the Big Deal About Gatlinburg? - 7/27/2008

When I visited Gatlinburg for the first time recently I was confused on why so many young white honeymoon couples, families and elderly tourists were walking up and down the main street of this tourist town. I decided to get out of the car and walk around and I still failed to see the big deal. There were tons of hotels but very little of anything meaningful like restaurants, bars or stores that would draw tourists.
