Slowing quickly now, soon to be at a dead stop. - 7/26/2008
So many of the major employers in this area are laying off or have laid off large amounts of their work force. If you can hold on for 20 years, your retirement will be very nice though.
A CPA with many years of experience can expect to start at $40K, $45 to $50 if you want to live in, or drive to Columbia, MO.
Very small town attitude that basically rolls up the sidewalks at 10pm. Most people go to Columbia, MO for a night on the town, when they can afford it.
Major employers are of course the state which includes all factions of office workers. Excellent benefits as well.
If you choose to come to Jefferson City, MO, make sure you have gainful employment and at the very least come and see the town before resettling here.[more...]
