The L-O-V-E of the Bay! - 1/26/2009

San Jose has much to offer. Lots of activities for families and singels. Because we are so close to the bay we are consider the South Bay. whatever kind of sence that you may like the Bay Area can accomidate it. Fashion, shopping, great food, festivals, a chance to experience different cultures or be more involved in your own, quite cities or very active cities the Bay has it all. Though in these days all things that sound good must come with some kind of bad news. the cost of living is high, but that may be because there are lots of professional people that make lots of money and people who make lots of money can and will want to live in one of the safest largest cities in the nation. Oh and not to mention public transpertation is made easy, fun, and very convient.[more...]

San José, 10th largest city in the USA, Safest Cit - 6/2/2008

San José is the Capital of Silicon Valley. It has the cleanest busses and trains that you will ever see. It is a City of all sizes: Northside, Southside, Eastside, Westside, Downtown, Uptown, and Central. San José borders many cities: North-Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Fremont, Milpitas(Yes it does! You need to look at a REAL map of SJ!) West-Saratoga, Cupertino, Campbell, Santa Clara, Los Gatos, South-Morgan Hill, Los Gatos. This city is the best, and .... the cleanest and greenest.[more...]

Mediterranean Climate in Silicon Valley - 5/24/2008

The best comes together in San Jose, capital of "Silicon Valley." The climate is moderate, the ocean is close to the west, and the mountains are close to the east. This is the 10th largest city in the United States with one of the lowest crime rates. We moved here in 1975. Since then the city has grown into a beautiful modern metropolitan area with universities, restaurants, cultural activities, museums, theaters, etc. Not everything is perfect, but it is a city where the strong Chamber of Commerce is working hand-in-hand with other civic groups to continually improve the area as a wonderful place to live and work.[more...]

The cost of housing is exorbitantly high here. There are lots of interesting places around and violent crime is very low. The cost of housing makes it very difficult though.[more...]

Cost of Housing - 1/4/2008

Housing costs in the San Jose area begin at $500,00 on the low end for a single family tract style home with approximately 1200 square feet in an average neighborhood. From there, the price increases depending what section of town you are looking in and the size and quality of the home. Schools also play an important roll in property values here. 1 home with 1200 square feet in an excellent district in the vally here can sell for as much as $1,000,000 plus.[more...]

Silicon Valley sucks - 10/26/2007

let me tell you, aftet spending the first 19 years of my life here, the silicon valley is so totally lame, it's not funny. unless you're some software engineer, san jose and the sorounding cities(more like suburbs) have little to offer, and here's why: i.nothing to do; i will never understand how the san jose arena gets people like david bowie and metallica, or even justin timberlake. ii.public transportation is a fucking joke; the vta(valley transportation authority) train goes along ONE street and after a certain point on the line it only stops at computer-related places. iii.san jose pd is bored off their asses, so they go looking for trouble, often times creating it themselves(undercover cops pushing people into uniformed ones on saturday nights just so they can arrest someone) iv.nightlife is totally lame, unless u wanna go to one of four hookah lounges in downtown sj. for the good clubs, u gotta go to frisco, which is like 75 miles to the north. oh yeah, and the sorounding cities(campbell, santa clara, sunnyvale, etc., get progressively more boring from there) but that's not to say that santa clara county has nothing to offer; no, it is very diverse, and we are spoiled by good community colleges and universities, plus crime really isn't an issue.[more...]

Downtown San Jose - 7/30/2007

Recent developments in San Jose are making the downtown area a new hotspot for nightlife, dining, and living. However, I feel like their is not enough creativity and that it lacks a personality. Despite this I feel like it is one of the most interesting big cities because it is generally clean and safe.[more...]

A Nice Place If You Can Afford It. - 7/18/2007

San Jose pretty much suffers from the negative attributes of all the other highly populated areas of California. The cost of living is absolutely ridiculous (even by CA standards), the traffic can be unbearable, and the public schools are not great. Like any other big city, San Jose has good areas and bad areas...but honestly, the good areas far outnumber the bad areas. In fact, there really are some very nice places to live here...if you can actually afford it. San Jose's location and weather really can't be beat. The beach is less than 40 minutes away, San Francisco is about an hour away, Monterey is a little over an hour away...basically it's right in the middle of everything. If you can overlook its faults and embrace its many positive attributes (and if you can afford it), San Jose really does have a lot to offer its residents. I live a very good life here, and I really can't complain.[more...]

Gas - 6/19/2007

GAS is expensive everywhere. But here, in San Jose it's always 30 to 50 cents more a gallon then other places in the state. It's a captive audience that has to drive to work every day. On the bright side my Mobil stock is doing well. Regards, Dan[more...]
