| San Ramon Climate - 9/12/2012
If you like the weather hot and dry, this is the place for you!
Don't come here if you like to see green hills in the summer,if you don't care for sunshine for 7-8 months a year, or several heatwaves where the thermometer is above 100F.
The housing is extremely expensive (we paid $630,000 for an 1836 sq ft
house with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a small backyard with a rotting deck. Single glazed windows. The school system, however, is top notch.

For what you get, "it" does not live up to the premium you have to pay to get "it".!

| Great Place to Live! - 2/10/2010
You can't beat the quality of life here in San Ramon. It is a small, progressive town with a government that cares about the environment, safety, disaster relief, etc. What I love most is that, within 30-45 minutes in any direction, I have easy access to everything I need -- good grocers and farmers markets, award-winning restaurants, great shopping, theaters and top shows, casinos, skiing, wine country, etc. All this plus consistently beautiful weather. What's not to love? Only the price (and dwindling value) of real estate!

| San Ramon - 10/18/2009
San Ramon is a community about 30 miles southeast of San Francisco. It is easily accessible to San Francisco via public transportation. A good place to raise a family, lots of park trails, great schools.

San Ramon, California is a great place to live. Great climate, good schools, low crime rate. It's just to expensive to live in this area.

| High tax rate, closed to Federal and county jail, - 2/7/2008
I 'm renting in San Ramon. The house price here is too expenseive. San ramon tax rate can be as high as 1.7% ( normally is 1.25%) . The master planning area in Windemere with high density housing on the east side is making the traffic ( especially Bollinger canyon raod ) worse and worse. I just found out the Federal correctional institution and county jail is in the border of San ramon and Dublin.....I am getting out of here...

| Great schools! - 10/18/2007
We moved to San Ramon specifically for the schools here. The test scores are high, student climate is tolerant and crime is low!

| northern california weather - 9/1/2007
the warm, sunny days from late spring to fall followed by crisp night air most days, can't be beat in many other areas of the country for ideal climate conditions. it makes sleeping easy without the need for an air conditioning environment. there are occasional times when it is hot and sometimes a hint of humidity but these are not frequent.
what i miss, however, is the green lushness one gets with the change of seasons and rainy summers. it is green here only during the rainy season from late october into may.

| San Ramon ~ The Town Without A Downton - 6/23/2007
When one moves to San Ramon, you find out quickly that there is no Main Street with shops, movie theatres and restaurants. Instead you find a bedroom community that grew into the town that could. While we may not have, nor never will have a Main Street, we do have a fine community center, wonderful libraries and schools and several shopping centers as well as an excellent hospital and web of doctors as well as one of the most complete veterinary hospitals in the nation.
I was to mention the climate; the climate of the community is safe and participatory in all special events. A proud community east of San Franciso and north of San Jose, nestled in a valley where winters are mild and summers can get very warm and hot into the Indian Summer/Autumn time of year. Generally wet winters, so we have green hills in December and dry summers with hills of gold. A lovely, active place for all age groups.

| San Ramon experience...better than I imagined - 1/28/2007
We moved here from Oakland to be closer to work.
We've been pretty happy with our San Ramon experience.
Generally is affordable to rent and not affordable to buy (having said that, it's the cheapest property in the 680 corridor) at the current prices.
People seem very happy with the schools here and they do seem well run (our kids are not school age yet).
Lots of parks which are good for kids and an active/well run community center.
Downside is how suburban it is...but it's close enough for quick trips into SF/Oakland or Walnut Creek.
Weather is good, although not as good as Oakland (hotter summers, colder winters).
Almost no crime...there was a homeless guy at a bus stop one time, and I think the whole San Ramon police department was there (4 or 5 cars) to make sure he got on the next bus.

Property Values far exceed the corresponding rental income tied to potential income producing properties.

| Nice. Possibly overated. - 5/21/2006
San Ramon has beautiful weather, great schools, nearly nonexsistent crime, significantly less traffic than other bay area cities, and as a community we are becoming more ethically diverse. On the down side, housing is unbelievably expense, people are polite but not necessarily friendly, and our city completely lacks character or entertainment (strictly surburbia, we can't even boast a downtown).
