Bicycling - 6/24/2008

This is a great area for road cycling. Many streets have bike lanes, there are off-road bike paths going down to the beach, and the weather is great most of the year. Several different clubs have organized rides in the area and welcome visitors and newcomers. Keep in mind that most rides are rolly or hilly, and the winds can be fairly strong as well as fickle. Don't overextend yourself when starting out with a tailwind. And if you start out with a headwind, don't assume you'll have a tailwind coming back.[more...]

Beautiful Weather - 10/7/2007

The weather is perfect for those of us who don't mind two seasons a year - summer and spring. Not much of a fall because most of the trees are evergreen and certainly no winter. However, a short drive up to the local mountains November - February provides the winter feeling that many "imports" miss.[more...]

Rustin in Tustin - 9/17/2007

I lived my entire life in Orange County, CA. There's very few places in the world in which you can be on the Ski Slopes in 1.5 hrs on a Saturday and on Sunday only drive 15 minutes to the beach to body surf some awesome waves. I'm surrounded by great restaurants, theatres, night life, recreational activities, etc, etc. The only thing you need to maintain is money. But, there's plenty of industry here as well.[more...]

Southern California Weather - 12/27/2006

The weather in the Orange County California area is great all year. Occassionally, we experience high winds conditons, known as the 'Santa Ana Winds'. But for the most part, we enjoy snow skiing in the winter and water skiing and other water sports. The beautiful weather most of the year. It's a great place to live and raise a family.[more...]
