| I had the misfortunate of being born in Columbus,MS. I hated it my whole life and couldn't wait to get out of it. I left as soon as I was old enough to get married. I have gone back several times over the years to visit family and it is still the same lifeless dirty little town it always was. If you don't have to, don't go to Columbus.

Born and rased in Columbus, MS and I love MY City!!! Shopping is not as good as larger cities but you can find some Great shopping places for good prices. Dinning... We Love to eat know how to ccok and we have good food!! The same activities u find in larger cities can can be found in Columbus! While visiting Columbus you will definately meet some Great 'one of a kind' people! I've lived in Columbus for a little while, having moved from a larger metro. If not for the lack of quality entertainment, the low general quality of people, the corrupt local politics, the corrupt business people, the crime, the small-mindedness, the absense of good food, the distance from any decent shopping, bad golf courses, tornadoes, the lackluster social scene and a pervasive resistance to join the 21st century, this would be just another average quaint town. As it stands, it's really alot worse than I ever imagined it would be. Never make any plans to stay more than 3 days in this place. Once I have moved, I'll never come back.[read more...]

Housing in Columbus is extremely affordable. Lots of variety too -- we have tons of downtown loft-style apartments, lots of affordable rentals allover town and in the county as well, and home prices are really low.[read more...]
