I have lived in Hamilton Square for 8 years now and I can say that I still feel very safe here. Unfortunately, the issues that make Trenton so undesirable are slowly creeping into the areas of Hamilton bordering Trenton. The PD in Hamilton are very vigilent and I still feel very safe here though. It is still affordable to live here although taxes have been creeping up in recent years, but hey, thats New Jersey for you! With a Northeast Corridor train station, I-95, I-195, and Routes 206 and 130, you have easy access to Philly and New York as well as the shore. Excellent location for commuters. The real estate market here is pretty stagnant right now but homes are moving, just taking longer to sell in this economy. Prices have fallen making it a very attractive area for new home buyers.

Lived there for most of my life, but ... - 12/27/2006

Times have changed since when I grew up when it was a nice and safe place to live. The gangs of Trenton are growing despite efforts to stop them. I live in the suburbs of Trenton and have spoke to people who had cars pull up their driveway and when approached to see if they need some help, they were at GUNPOINT and forced to give over money. Are you kidding me!! Looking to move out before the suburbs gets as bad as Trenton.[read more...]
