Lakeland is highly rated for its winter weather. For the most part, winter is mild except for a couple of times in January and February when cold air from Canada comes all the way down. Then we may have a period of a week in which the temperatures are low forties at night and high fifties during the day time. Other wise the winters are very good. Summer time during the hurricane season, whether we have no hurricanes coming ashore or three, the humidity and heat is very high, especially in the months of July and August. Hot weather continues usually until into October and so does the threat of huricanes.
