| The Newport area is very beautiful place to live in and the population is just the right size to raise a family. Lots to do. Unfortunately the cost of housing is exteremly expensive. The average cost to buy a home is about $400,000 and just as expensive to rent ($2000+) for a decent place. Plus the winters are pretty cold so your heat is pretty high as well. The summers are great but short.

| Newport Seaport Traditions - 9/18/2007
Newport RI is a famous and historic seaport town, but like many New England cities, the past blends with the present in very appealing ways. It is a walking town that allows easy strolls, convenient shopping, and many out of the ordinary attractions - from boating to touring mansions. It has the feel of a much bigger town during the summer, but the pleasant atmosphere remains (to a much smaller population) in the other seasons. Restaurants are first class and remain open all year, with many special deals (not just for the locals) that make dining a quality experience and a cheap price.[read more...]
