Review of Wesley Chapel, Florida

Pros and Cons of Wesley Chapel
Star Rating - 3/1/2009
Wesley Chapel is a diverse community. Neighborhoods such as Meadow Pointe, Northwood, The Lakes and Seven Oaks are on the southern end and are filled with transplants from the Northeast (mostly NYC area),Midwest(a lot of Ohio folks) and California. There are a fair amount of middle class, professional minorities (Hispanic and African American). The southern part of Wesley Chapel is more a part of New Tampa and boasts a beautiful, sophisticated new shopping mall, The Shoppes at Wiregrass and many new and interesting restaurants. The northern part is rural and still consists of native Floridians from a lower middle class background who still fly the confederate flag on the back of their pick-up trucks. W.C. is only 25 minutes up I-275 from downtown Tampa. Planned communities mentioned above offer a country club lifestyle with swim clubs, walking trails, tennis courts etc. Great for kids...but if you're used to the fast pace and artistic culture up north, it takes some getting used to. This is Soccer Mom world!
