Ormond Beach is a bit of a jewel in a backward area. Unfortunately, the entertainment around here centers on Bike Week, Biketoberfest, Speed Week, and Spring Break. In between those illustrious events it can be very nice living here. The cost of living is reasonable, the schools are adequate (but shop around and buy where your kids will go to the best Elementary and Middle schools, students may attend any high school they wish), crime is low, and the environment is very clean (except for the noise and trash generated by the events mentioned earlier). Lots of retirees, so simple things like grocery shopping becomes a lesson in patience. Not much canned entertainment other than one movie theater, but the outdoors is available year round for biking, fishing, kayaking, and is very pleasant from mid-October through May.
