| We've lived in Enumclaw for seven years and will NEVER leave! The scenic beauty of this small town nestled in the cascade foothills is breathtaking. With a commanding view of Mt. Rainier, abundant wildlife (deer, elk, eagles) Enumclaw is still close enough to enjoy all the amenities of a large city (Seattle) only minutes away, while offering the charm you'd expect of a small town; friendly people, great schools (Gates Foundation school), unique shops and recreation including ski resorts less than 20 minutes away. With land use covenants in place, Enumclaw will never turn into Los Angeles.

| Enumclaw wonderful memories. - 6/26/2010
I lived in Enumcalw in '48 and '49 when I was 10-11 yrs old. I really loved the place and always wanted to re-visit it.
It was great to be a kid there. There was always something to do. On Wednesday evening it was 9 cent night at the movies. for a quarter a kid could see 2 movies and 3 cartoons (9 cents), have a box of popcorn, (10 cents), a nickle candy bar and a penny left over for penny candy.
There was a mountain (hill) in town where people used to say a cougar lived. All the kids were afraid to camp up there. lol.
We had an earthquake in 1948 or '49 it was strong enough to knock me off my bike and knock off all the cans on the shelves at the local convenience store. (smile)
People were friendly, fantastic scenery, just a great place.. It was like a Shangri La tucked away in the foothills of the Cascades. Hope it hasn't changed much.[read more...]

| Issaquah to Enumclaw - 3/4/2010
I wanted to move to Enumclaw since I was young, I have been here for about 10 years now and I love it, except for the fact that the city took the 'cap' from no building , so now they are building like crazy. The farms are going away and more and more developements are being built. It is very sad , I feel we will move in the next couple years, they raised our utilities twice in 2 months and I fear Enumclaw will soon look like Issaquah where I grew up, that town was once nice too.
