The In's and Outs of Elgin Oklahoma gooooo Owls!!

Elgin is a nice small town. A town where people still wave at you as you drive downt the road. Of course as with any populated place there are some things that could be improved upon. Our police officers are some of the best! They interact with kids from a very early age, dare officer onsite at the campus offering classes about drug use, building a repoir with the students, faculty as well as the parents. The teachers are really good, of course their are a few lacking but the school does encourage parent teacher relationships. The counslers lack from my experience. When I went to school our counselors offered not only help with planning our futures ( ie: college info, job info, help with what classes needed to be taken to achieve these goals). The Superintendent is always available for parents so that is a plus. The town has grown more since the previous review, we have a 10 different places to eat: Trivets Family restaurant( A very nice friendly place to eat with all you can eat fish fridays) Sonic, Subway, Mr. Goodcents( another sandwhich place, with pasta) Pizza Biz, Mexicana and More, McDonalds, Elgin Cafe, 2 gas stations, one with pizza and sandwichs the other with korean food. grocery store, a fitness center, jewelry store, 2 places you can buy clothes, a gift shop.two banks(with another on the way) 4 style salons, real estate company, post office, tag agent, 2 day cares and most important a donut shop!! ( ok so not the most important..but the most yummy). Elgin is only 15 mins from Ft. Sill/ Lawton, mins from the lakes..the wild life refuge. Elgin is a place worth looking into if your planning a move. Small town values close to big towns.
