Worst - 7/22/2016

What to said, I live here since 2013, I'm Cuban, but I have to said that I'm truly surprised for what we are doing with this city, We have to do something with the traffic and the insanely drivers who drive as they own way, the police department are not working on that way and of course all Latins who live here think they are in they own country, so, people, we are not living in Cuba,Venezuela,Mexico,Ecuador,Honduras,Nicaragua,Colombia, we are living in America now, we have to care about our city, we have to adapt and respect the law, I feel here that I'm not living in USA, but I feel this is the City more closer to USA :(

Worst place in America - 5/16/2016

This has to be the absolute worst place to live in America. The climate is horrible, along with the majority of the people. I can't believe that I lived there for so long. I went from living in the worst city, to living in the best city in America. The best city being San Diego, with the best climate, and where the majority of the people are polite and friendly.I am currently in Miami visiting my mother, and I can't wait to return to civilization. You will be hard pressed to find anyone that speaks english in Miami. I here people bad mouth Mexicans a lot, but at least the Mexicans in California speak english and try to assimilate to the American way of life. Miami is actually an embarrassment to the United States. Miami is simply pathetic. I feel very sorry for the good people that live there.Good luck Miamians, because you really need it.

Cheap home insurance - 3/16/2016

My wife and I actually just purchased a home in the Miami area for around $330,000 and the homeowners insurance was outrageous! It was almost $6,000, $5,700 to be exact. I searched everywhere and finally I found out you have to receive what is called a wind mitigation report and in this area it decreases the homeowners insurance by almost half! Which was nice! The company which helped me out was a Miami agency Unbeatable Insurance Agency which out of all the companies I called had the lowest rate and of course were very nice. If you guys are searching I told them I would recommend anyone who ask me. Hope this helps =)

Miami way to high the price you may pay for living - 2/15/2015

Miami, or just any city from West Palm Beach all the way to Key Largo is expensive. 1. if you want to rent, prices are super higher, like if you want to live near downtown Miami, you are looking around $ 3000.00/monthly. If your budget is tight you must move all the way to Homestead where you can rent 2/2 for $950.00 2. Don't forget the tolls (all over Miami) if you live in Homestead and work in Miami, the commute isn't 25 mins... (I wish) is more like an hour and half almost two hours depending how early you leave, accidents, etc. (toll average ($120/month). 3. Auto Insurance, one of the most expensive cities. One full cover could ho up to $ 220 per 1 car. Accidents on the freeway... 10every hour. People drive like crazy. Groceries, well expensive compared to other cities. And the rest well it mostly depends where you live, but a job for starters, let's say Walgreens $8/hr, or less. English language almost none, everyone speaks spanish, too many Hispanics, not that botherbother me, but is tough place to rise a family if you are not wealthy. If 65% goes on your place, 20% in your car insurance, gasoline, sunpass. 15 % in bills like cable, internet, phones, energy... left is only food, no time for entertainment...Think about coming to Miami, is not worthy.

Better Place For Our Family - 1/17/2014

I am a native of Miami Dade County, Florida. I have lived here all of my life, but the place I grew up in is nothing like the place it is today. The cost of living is through the roof and the pay is below the standard cost of living. A degree counts for nothing in the job market here, because unemployment is substantially high and you have more educated people applying for the same positions, so employer can get away with pay ridiculously low wages. People here no longer speak English as the first language. Spanish is the norm. You will always be addressed in Spanish, before being addressed in English. The crime rate is through the roof and 70% of people are on welfare. There is always someone trying to hustle or scam you out of money. Business owners here have a hard time collecting revenue for services rendered. It is a terrible place for the middle class family, trying to raise well rounded, law abiding family.

No Value for your Money - 12/25/2012

I have lived in Miami since 1993. I moved here from Central America and must say I am itching to get out. Let's start with how expensive it is. The "good" neighborhoods are far in between and I can count them with one hand. That being said, even if you sacrifice and pay the price to live in a top notch neighborhood you're not guaranteed a school to match. The very FEW public schools that are reputable are also the same ones that bus in the kids from the poorer section therefore ruining the demographics and bringing in some of the crime you "paid" to get your kids away from. Then there's the traffic. My joke is that everyone here is an undercover taxi driver because that's all people here seem to do: DRIVE! Morning rush hour, lunch rush hour, afternoon rush never ends. Top that with majority who don't respect the traffic laws, are unaware that the left lane is for PASSING and the overall rudeness and road rage that prevails here...well, it makes you want to run for the hills (not drive). The superficiality of this city is like no other. Tinseltown of the east coast mixed in with the the overall lack of IQ leaves you scratching your head. And yes, the population is diverse. People from all over but not necessarily the cream of the crop. More like the uneducated trash that thrives on the "lifestyle". People here have no interest in learning about anything that doesn't revolve around Miami or South Beach. The only good thing I have to say about Miami is that it's warm all year round. But if you're longing for a warm place to raise your family skip Miami and head elsewhere.

New Start - 6/30/2012

I am a single parent of a 10 yr old and I live in Miami-Dade county Fla . I have been living here all my life . The cost of living is thru the ROOF , the area that I live in has 80% of crime on a daily . But the good thing is everyone is like a big family , most people have grown up with each other and our kids are doing the same thing . Ever thing is near by if you dont have a car , the schools are wonderful and hands on . I just need a new start where my son can be able to do all the same things he does now without to much change and less crime as well as less cost . But i cant move out of this state all of my famliy is here and that would be a HUG drawback for my son since he is so close to my mom and dad . Please tell me what cities in fla are best for me . Thanks

Hey guys , We 2 friends are gonna go to the USA in 2 months , we are scholars of a oil company. We will select a city in 10 days and we have to decide it as soon as possible. We wonder ; How is housing ? people in the cities ? we will have limited budget "max.1500 bucks per month per person " and just wonder, is it enough to live well ? we may rent a studio flat for 2 of us to reduce the cost. and we have other selections such as ; sf , sb ,houston , austin , miami , st.petersburg , tampha , new york ... thank you in advance

Pats in Miami - 2/18/2012

Miami is not a good place for pets! High temperatures and ignorant people = a disaster for animals. Due to the largly high latin culture in Miami, we have plenty of diversity and that is a bonus, but not for animals. People leave them tied up, left outdoors in heat and often abandoned.People here think they are objects and have no concerns for them.

Great place to live, if you're rich - 2/18/2012

Miami was named #1 and West Palm Beach #3 most miserable places to live in the US by a major magazine. There are beautiful safe areas but 99% of us can't afford to live there. The rest of the area is still expensive but has a high violent crime rate. "Florida Move Guide" says that high unemployment, high crime, high foreclosures, low wages for most jobs and high humidity 9-10 months a year combine to make South FL anything but paradise. Use the stats on Sperling to check out any place you are thinking of moving to, you don't want to be the next victim.
