The 2006 Crime Statistics were released by the State of Florida . The State as a whole dropped about 1 % The Flagler County/Palm Coast area increased 30% . I have lived here just over a year, and in that time I've seen a dramitic increase in gangs , crime , and drugs . I have personally contacted the Sherriff several times regareding drug use in public parks and have been told " just don't go there". That about sums up our Sherriffs attitude toward crime - ignore it and hope it goes away . This is not a family place .

Palm Coast is a very safe area to live. The 30% increase in crime is based on 2000 cenus; the population has increased tremendously! Most of the crime here is stealing from "unlocked cars", vandalism, etc. mostly from kids. Several of those teens have been arrested. The complainers of crime come from NY and NJ without the proper statistics. I have lived here since 1998, and love it! Drugs promote crime, and there are crime and drugs in every city.
