| A Good Place to Live in the Highlands - 6/28/2007
WM is a good town to live in if you want to live in the woods but near New York City. NYC is about an hour drive away yet there are deer, fox, bear, racoons and fox in the woods (and unfortunately crossing the road). A few ski areas nearby for winter fun. Many lakes in the area for swimming and fishing. WM is in the Highlands which provides water for Newark and other cities downstream. Therefore it is somewhat protected from large scale development. The schools seem pretty good. Small town politics are often ridiculous. Overall New Jersey is an expensive place to live and WM is no different - taxes never go down and costs keep rising. People are nice but it isn't the mid-West or South. YO! it's New Jersey![read more...]
