It's been almost 7 years since 4/19/2006 and Lake Elsinore is still not a huge city and never will be. Nobody wants to live here because it blows and it's not worth the dirt cheap housing prices. The roads are still in need of repair, the businesses are still few and far in between and you still have to drive 10 miles to go to the grocery store and the nearest mall is still over 20 miles away. The lake still stinks and ghetto areas are still flourishing. Its one of the nastiest places to live that I have ever encountered. It might be an ok place to have a cup of coffee but thats about it.

| Up and Coming - 5/18/2007
The City of Lake Elsinore is undergoing a facelift. It is being resurfaced with beatiful homes and businesses. The location is perfect. It's within a hour drive of Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange County, but just far enough away from the caios and rediculous cost of living. The citie's backbone are the families who call Lake Elsinore home. The new neighborhoods are built around family and the city is shifting to this form of acitecture as well. Soon, the lake will be surrounded with shore front townhomes and marinas next to the beautiful brand new baseball stadium.[read more...]

| Lake Elsinore Blows! - 4/9/2007
My wife and I have lived here for 9 years and all we can say is IT SUCKS! The heat in the summer is unbearable and thanks to Southern California Edison and this area being one of the highest electricity tiers, our monthly electric bills in the summer average $600+(PER MONTH) and it's just the two of us. We finally got a local shopping area after nine years and still don't have any decent restaurants and are over-run with fast food which the residents seem to love. Upper scale restaurants have tried it here and failed because no one wants to pay more than $6.95 for dinner. I was in Texas and the waitress said, "Oh you live in Lake "Smells some more". I can't even get away from it in Texas! They are trying to rehab the lake but it still stinks and many people cringe at the thought of putting their boat in the water. You would think with the lake being the main and only attraction they would focus more efforts on clean-up and actually allowing nice homes to be built on the lake but that will never happen! God forbid they pave a road. The roads are absolutely horrible and paving on the most highly traveled roads is non-existent rattling your car to it's core. A lot of the city is old and dumpy and there isn't much indication of those areas getting better any time soon. All said and done, it's hot as hell, boring as hell, and it wouldn't hurt for immigration to get over here and clear out all the illegals! But that won't happen because half of the city would be wiped out! If you like hang gliding and sky diving we are world renound for those but I would much rather drive to Lake Elsinore for those attractions than live here. What an armpit![read more...]

I enjoy living here because the area is affordable and you are in the middle of two big cities San Diego to the South and Los Angeles to the North, and of course if you want to add the OC (orange County) is West. Most people are friendly and most moms are stay @ home (AFFORDABILITY).[read more...]

The days over 90 degrees is more like 3 to 4 months of the year. The high is more like 105 average during those months. The smog is getting worse every day. Maybe 14 days a year you have clear visibility to see mountains that you should be able to see eveyday.[read more...]
