| Liberal and stoned in paradise - 7/1/2006
Ukiah is about two hours north of San Francisco which explains its liberal slant. Marijuana use is common as the county (Mendocino) is part of the well known Emerald Triangle. Emerald Triangle refers to the three counties of Mendocino, Humboldt, and Trinity in Northern California where marijuana production is commonplace.
Although the cost of living is high and the wages are low, the great weather, rugged coast, redwood forests, lakes, vineyards and mountains make the area an outdoorsman’s paradise.
