Chickamauga, GA is rich in history. The Battle of Chickamauga/Chattanooga was fought here in September 1863. The brave soldiers of the South fighting against the Federal armies of the North to ensure that our way of life would not change. The Confederate army won this particular battle but lost the war. The downtown area boasts of the Pride of the Confederacy with many buildings filled with replications of how folks dressed during the mid-19th century.
