What can you say about Las Vegas? It's not a major metropolitan area but it's not small either. If you like the nightlife then this is a great place to be. If you are more family oriented well, you may have some issues. Small children wouldn't have such a hard time but older kids between 12-18 may not like it so much because there's not a lot for them to do here. If you like the arts, we just built the Smiths Center which is a great asset to the community. It gives us some of the culture we were lacking. We still have a ways to go in that aspect. A sports perspective...we lack that also. UNLV is the only real sports in the community with the basketball team being the only real show in town. Major sports would be nice but due to size and betting the odds of getting a professional team are very minimal. We only have one major accredited university in southern NV and if you looking for a good inexpensive in state college UNR is a better option from a national standpoint. We currently have the worst High School grad rate in the country at around 62%. The hospitality industry isn't one that needs highly educated individuals and you can still take home a decent wage albeit with tips. The weather is fairly decent year around winter averages around 60 with summer around 100.
