| dont live here! - 11/20/2012
although we moved fairview heights could be a good city however there are alot of things that need fixing so heres the list and i hope it helps you make an informed decision.1)SMOG CITY!PEOPLE BURN LEAVES ALL DAY ON TUESDAY,THURSDAY AND ALL DAY SATURDAY!)if you want sat.morning coffee on your back deck dont plan on it,you wont be able to breathe and you will be paying the same taxes as the folks burning all day long(pleae dont move there if you or your family have any breathing issues).2)ALL THE CITY COUNCIL DOES IS FIGHT AND ARGUE PERIOD!#3 they dont enforce housing codes when it comes to your neighbors having multiple families living in a house.many rental houses have 2or 3 families in them.#4 houses allowed to be let go,no paint,no gutters, exposed wood siding, overgrown vines on trailers, trash in yards,.#5 if you live there and you speek up about any of the above you will be blackballed.so do yourself a favor and dont move into smog heaven! move to belleville the city council there works for its citizens(like how they banned toxic leaf burning)but if you decide to live in fairview heights just call city hall because some of the city workers own alot of the rentals.good luck![read more...]

| Nice town - 1/20/2010
I think it's great living here, you are close to everything, and I mean everthing. Fairview is primarily commercial;large shopping mall, numerous dining, auto repair, anything you want. It is a destination for shoppers from at least a 50 mile radius, which does increase traffic but those who live here know the ways around the traffic. Hospitals are within 5-10 miles, High school 8 miles, grade schools within a mile. An interstate runs just north of the city with easy access to St. Louis,Mo (10 Miles). Clean, good city government and sevices.[read more...]
