What a beautiful small city! - 3/1/2011 |

| I had the pleasurable experience of living in Doylestown for a year, several years ago! What drew me to Doylestown was the sheer beauty of the architectur
downtown and the stately old homes all around. It reminded me of a quaint, English village! When you come into Doylestown, you quickly realize this is no run-of-the-mill Pennsylvania town! If there was one major drawback to this
remarkable city, its the extremely high cost of living! That was the primary reason I had to leave. I had a ordinary, 2 bedroom townhome that I rented which was $1265 a month plus utilities! By far, more than I ever have spent on housing anywhere including New York! Doylestown is obviously tailored to upper income people. If you have plenty of money, then you will be very happy to live there. There is a regional SEPTA train station there and you are less than an hour from Philadelphia. I particularly enjoyed walking around downtown-the shoppes and antigue stores were wonderful!

| Life in Doylestown - 1/21/2011
Sometimes I feel as if there is a giant bubble over Doylestown that insulates it from any of the problems and issues of the rest of the county. The town is beautiful, has great restaurants, a thriving cultural community, amazing schools, a world-class hospital and is situated an hour north of Philadelphia and 2 hours from New York City. Cost-of-living is high, but quality of life is even higher.[read more...]
