Review of Vidor, Texas

Contemplating moving!
Star Rating - 11/16/2009
Lived in Vidor for 13 years. Moved here from Orlando. Talk about culture shock! WOW. Although most of the people are nice, polite, and helpful the town has this depressed, mundane feel about it. Wish the business and homeowners would pick up trash on the ground. It really bothers me that the city would spend 6 million on a new city hall, yet nothing to improve the library or maybe put in some sidewalks or street lights or some other city beautification.
Claiborne West Park is my favorite place in town, which is pretty much on the edge of town towards Orange. Several hundred acres, trails, playgrounds, apitheatre (that goes unused), etc. Wish the rest of the town was as pretty.
There needs to be more community areas, events, and activities. Really not much to do without going to Beaumont, 10 minutes away.
