Review of Mount Vernon, New York

Quality of Life
Star Rating - 10/16/2012
Mount Vernon is a small but growing multicultural urban community in south Westchester County, NY. It's residents range in socioeconomic status, backgrounds, and religion. While some areas are experiencing economic revitalization, some remain depressed with high crime rates. Schools in the area are generally well maintained and competitive performance rates and sports programs. Property taxes are high. Jobs and recreational sites are limited, but many attractions are located just minutes away in New York City and nearby Westchester County towns like Pelham, Yonkers, New Rochelle, and White Plains.
