| Too many restaurants and fast food joints. Lots of new housing being built, trailer parks and home of MCAS Cherry Point. Small businesses here and there, but that will change since they just put up a Walmart. Cost of living is cheap. Lots of places to hunt and fish. It's a small town, takes about 5-10 minutes to drive right through it on HWY 70 depending on the traffic. People usually drive outside of Havelock to do most anything.

Winter lows are typically low to mid 30'sand snow very scarce. Summer highs are typically upper 80's to low 90's and humid. We are close to the ocean so hurricane's are in play.[read more...]

| An easy place to live. - 6/24/2006
It is easy to live in Havelock because the crime rate is low therefore you feel safe, a Craven Community College is here and other community college's are within a thirty minutes drive, an assortment of arts entertainment is available with a forty five minute drive, you plop on your beach blanket after a twenty minute drive, plenty of golf and tennis and baseball and school athletics are available too. And there is always seafood for your dining pleasure![read more...]
