Reno is a nice town

I lived in Reno for 5 years and for the most part loved it.
I am very surprised by the last post that said it’s ugly. The mountains views are quite beautiful and in town the landscaping is green with lots of trees and green grass ect..
I am not sure were the person in the last post hangs out but I did not see many down on your luck" people expect for down town, same goes for Strange, transient people. The last post also said there is no class or culture, again I guess it depends were you hang out and who you hang with.
The weather in Reno is mild year round. I come from Ohio so I know bitter cold .The Weather Channel reports the average day time temp in Jan. is 45 and low of 22. The sun shines all the time so even on cold days if the wind is not blowing it nice out. The winter last from December to March that’s about 4 months. The summer is the best; I almost never had to turn on my AC. The years we lived in Reno the smoke from wildfires happened every now and them some years are worse than others but never a common everyday thing.
There is so much to do in Reno and the surrounding area, if you love the outdoors this is heavenly. World class skiing just down the road along with hiking, mountain biking, camping the list go’s on. Reno has a large list of fun scheduled events every year (they do the same ones over and over again because people like them).
I was very happy with the schools. My son graduated from Reno high and did quite well in collage.
Now for the down side of Reno. The wind can be a pain, some years it seams to last all summer. The summer wind usually blows at 20 to 30 MPH as for the 50-60 MPH gusts that’s big news and is fairly rare. The cost of living is why we moved, housing was very high. There is no state income tax in NV so the make it up by high car registration and sales tax. Property tax is nothing compared to back east.
