| Don't Move To Crofton - 3/22/2010
I have a lot of contact with people in Crofton and the word is out on this place. If you like police corruption and sleezy politics, this is the place for you. A 12 year old caucasian boy was beaten to death by some other boys, while he was riding his bicycle, and there wasn't exactly a big outcry. When asked about the growing crime in the area, the President of the civic association commented that crime has an ebb and flow and wasn't that concerned.
We've had a few dealings with the civic leaders in Crofton, and we wouldn't call them responsive in any event to anything. If you like sippin' tea with Southern Belle's and commenting about how nice Betty Sue's lawn looks, and ignore all the crime around you, Crofton is just peachy.
The fish in the local pond were found floating on the top, and the local realtors are a little ashamed of how the town has gone downhill, but if you're dying to live in Stepford, c'mon over and join the fun.[read more...]

I have lived here for over 5 years and I'm very happy with the place. There are new shopping centers near by and a lot of things to do. A new school is supposed to be built next year.[read more...]

| A cost comes with living within close proximity to - 6/17/2007
I live in Crofton, MD, which is approximately 25 miles east of Washington, DC, 22 miles south of Baltimore and nine miles west of Annapolis. As you can see, Crofton is a very centrally located community providing access to the three cities I mention. Such close proximity provides access to many activities, whether they be city oriented or more aquatic, e.g. Annapolis. I've enjoyed living in the area, but a drawback is the cost of living is high. The cost of housing has grown exponentially in the last five years to the point that I don't know how so many people can afford half a million dollar homes, which isn't getting you much more than a modest 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 home in the burbs. Yes, there are cheaper alternatives, but for a decent single family home in a average subdivision, that is what it will cost. The cost of housing alone has made me reconsider calling the DC area home, as numerous attractive cities provide quality life for a fraction of the housing cost.[read more...]

| Nice but expensive - 10/1/2006
Nice area. Convenient to a lot of shops, restaurants, BWI airport, and Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Annapolis. Jobs are plentiful in the area, especially in the Federal Government. However, the area is quite expensive.[read more...]

| Crofton is located between the 3 big cities - 4/26/2006
Crofton is a great place to live because it is located between Washington D.C., Baltimore and Annapolis MD. Home appreciation values have really gone up. Very family friendly community. The city is no longer a secret so more people are moving to the city bringing added congestion and density. Very safe city. I frequently see women jogging and walking alone at night. Schools are pretty good as well. Overall, a great place to live.[read more...]
