Ottumwa, Iowa SperlingViews

ottumwa is wierd everybody here claims to hate it but once they move away they miss it and soon return. yes the summers are hot and the winters are cold but its really not that unbarable really. the land scape of ottumwa is cool its flat on the south side and very steep hills on the north side of town and the des moines river seperates the two side. the cost of livin is just spectacular u can live like a king on $12 an hour. and the people are nice for the most part i mean ya every city has there jerks but ottumwa has fewer of them then most

You can live like a king on 12 an hour but the problem is the only job that will pay you over 5 or 6 is the meat packing plant. No jobs nothing to do and no culture that is Ottumwa in a nutshell

ottumwa, Iowa has no diverse culture. It is not very open especially when it comes to branching out to new ideas of others culture...The idea of culture here is the pro balloon races every june ...what a joke.They need more recreational activities here .[read more...]
