Review of Joliet, Illinois

You NEVER know what to expect in this town! Located right between highways I80 and I55, you can end up sitting in traffic doing 3 mph on a sunday afternoon, or catch the highway all freed up in rush hour- either direction. If you want to go downtown Chicago, best bet is to take the Metra because chances are the commute is going to be around an hour to even get there, and THEN pay to park, where as you can just jump on the metra in downtown joliet. Newcomers will most likely get thrown off by the one-way streets in downtown joliet, as I did, but the shops and such remind you of a small town Chicago! The only public transportation is in downtown Joliet, not around the outside/west side, which is a bummer. Best bet is to drive though, cuz yah cant walk anywhere in this town.
