Towns in Trouble

This small central valley town is in deep yogurt. house prices are collapsing at a unbelievable pace and people are leaving. The foreclosures just keep coming with no end in sight. This area, like many in califorina, saw real estate maddness take over the heart and soul of the town. I moved here because prices were very low for a California town in a scenic area. My house Tripled in price from 1999 to 2006 it has since fallen 50% and it looks like it might go all the way back to 1999 prices. Of course, when people get that far underwater on their homes and lose a job they just hit the road and that's what is happening.
With a voting record of 70% plus for GW Bush both times you can imagine the mentality of the town. It is ultra conservative to the point of the ridiculous and if you're not that way don't bother moving here. Schools are improving but the social issues of the town are quit bothersome to say the least. You can find a great deal on a house right now, but I wouldn't move here again if I had a choice.
