| High Taxes - 12/2/2011
Absolutely love it. Real old fashioned home town where everyone knows each other. Has a great river for fly fishing and a trail for running, biking, cross county skiing. Nice little school with 150 students from Pre-K - eighth grade.
Would not be looking for a new place to live if the taxes weren't sooooo high. Can't really afford to retire here.

| home sweet home. - 10/24/2010
Living in Califon New Jersey is like comming home to a vacation paradise every day,my home is on a flag lot that is very secluded to public view. I am 650 feet from the road.Califon is the mailing address, but the physical location is in Washington Twsp.there is an apple orchard and a small barn,on my property as the it is mostley wooded there isalso plenty of dead fall to use as fire wood and the closest neighbor is about 200ft from the main bulding. The schools here are excelant, there is shopping near by as well as medical care, dental care and chiropractic care, township provides assistance with transportation to rehab and medical facilities.I have been ejoying my life here in New Jersey. With new york city about 45 miles to the east and train transportation abour 15 minutes away, a great convineance to get in to the city. There are many attractions to provide entertainment and education available. All in all this area is a paradice to behold.property is suitable for horses and other large farm animals. [read more...]
