Before I moved to the DC area, I assumed the worst: High crime rate, urban blight, etc. Well so far the ony real big negative about DC is the astronomically high realestate prices. For the most part it is a very charming and sophisticated city. It's architcture is very european and at a human scale. There are a quite variety of neighborhoods, each with its unique personality. There are so many great restaurants and bars.. I cannot list them all. Then there are all the galleries and museums, you are never at a loss for something to do on a rainy day. The population is young, hip, educated, and cosmopolitan.I have never had a problem making friends in DC. The public transit system is top notch. It's really a great place tolive.
