Review of Juneau, Alaska

Hiking is fun!
Star Rating - 5/29/2014
Juneau AK has over 50 trails in and around our community. They can be short as a jaunt from the road to the water to go shell collecting or much longer. Such as a hike up Mount Roberts and heading out beyond with a backpack and safety in mind. Mendenhall Glacier which lies in the Tongass rainforest offers beautiful scenic trails for short or long duration. Whatever you do come prepared for fun and maybe a little liquid sunshine (rain). Maps are a must because some trails have what looks like various paths in which to choose. I have had to do my share of taking a wrong path only to discover that it ended at a stream or was some kind of wildlife trail. I hike with dogs and they wear bear bells. You don't want to be in bear country and surprise a momma with her cub(s). Play it safe and have fun on our trails. Let someone know where your going and when you expect to return. Enjoy the trails, please do not litter and to play it safe follow a guide to not get lost.
