I have lived in Phila(Ctr city) and its many neighborhoods off and on for the last fifteen years after having grown up in the surrounding suburbs. The neighborhood I live in now ranks highest among all previous locations. Advantageous due to its close proximity to center city, easily accessible by a choice of multiple transit lines and beautiful given the high quality of housing stock and engaged residents. Developed around 1900-06 the area represents one of the first middle class developments in Phila. Leaded windows and hardwood floors with adequate yards the houses can reach sizes upwards of 3800-4200 sq ft. In addition, the neighborhood has seen its main thouroughfare revitalized and parks modernized with new playgrounds, lighting, infrastructure and a vibrant weekly farmers market. All in all a wonderful city oasis if cities are your preference.
