This small college town offers a unique sense of community, a variety of year-round cultural activities, and easy access to plenty of recreational activities throughout our four seasons.

Lock you bike - 2/11/2013

After living in urban areas all my life, this place is like no other. It is like going back in time 30 years where children can play outdoors and people watch out for each other. There are some bike thefts and car prowls, but overall it's a very safe place to live and work.[read more...]

A newcomer's perspective - 11/10/2011

I have lived in 14 different locations, in 10 different states in my adult life, on both coasts, in the south, and in the midwest...in cities, suburbs, small towns, and rural areas. So it really means something when I say that Moscow, Idaho is my favorite place I've lived. I've only been here about 4 months, but from what I can tell this town has everything. Between UofI and WSU there are plenty of amenities and activities (lectures, concerts, festivals, etc). But Moscow doesn't feel like a college town, with unkempt lawns, loud parties, or teenage thugs roaming the streets. Housing is affordable. There are plenty of shops and restaurants, both local and chain, to choose from. Crime is low; I feel safe anytime of night, anywhere in town. Traffic is non-existent. Honestly, my wife and I have both remarked how Moscow feels like a town out an 80s sit-com. It's the kind of place where you talk to your neighbors while your kids jump in a pile of leaves. The weather so far has been lovely...the summer was mild and dry, but I'm sure my rosy image of this town will soon be buried under 2 feet of snow.[read more...]

not THAT great - 9/10/2011

I've lived in Moscow, Idaho for many years and in several parts of the city. Local farming severely impacts air quality. Expect month long headaches from dust and smoke. City water is overly chlorinated/fluorinated and aphid control is non existent. Small part of population is enlightened, but mostly republican dorks. 3 months out of the year has nice weather. traffic lousy when students are in town.[read more...]

Activities - 7/12/2010

Moscow is not a bad place to live. It is in between to universities. Which means they are party towns for university students. Not much else to do Except go to Spokane, fish or camping. Not a bad place to raise kids. Crime is low and everyone is friendly. [read more...]

MOSCOW CLIMATE - 3/12/2007

This is a beautiful place with a relatively mild climate. The winters can get a little gray, but there are a few days interspersed with the clouds to make it manageable. Summers are clear, dry and cloud-free.[read more...]
