I moved to the area in August of 07 to teach, and am NOW living in Central CA...AGAIN:( Could NOT afford to live "in the neighborhood" on my own salary (@ 60K), and I just didn't find it "worthy" of "paying for the privilege to live there" (as a single income household)! There seemed to be this "expectation" to receive T O P DOLLAR housing prices that were challenging to one's intelligence to "accept"!!! (Think: The Emperor's New Clothes...)! It's not much MUCH cheaper than coastal areas, without the view... Plan on making AT LEAST 70K to make things happen, and good luck if you're looking to find that locally - the industry there seems to rely M A I N L Y on tourism. So - I couldn't get more with more than 10 years of professional experience, and a graduate degree; if you DO qualify, then "Welcome to Paso Robles!" Happy trails...
