I've lived in Virginia most of my life and thought it was an okay place to live. There are parts of it that are a bit expensive and overcrowded, but overall I never had any major complaints. Recently my family and I decided to move to Montgomer County Maryland, more specifically Clarksburg, in search of a better life, more opportunites etc. I feel now that it was a big mistake. Ever since we set foot in this state, we've had unpleasant surprise after unpleasant surprise. I expected the cost of living to increase, but it's out of control here. Maryland's taxes for everything are ridiculous. They have terrible traffic and most of the drivers here are just incompetent to say the least. They spend money to have people in minivans sit around and take pictures of vehicles supposedly speeding even though everyone speeds every chance they get. The housing market is out of control yet they continue to build oversized, poorly constructed homes and ask way too much for them. Overall, they just find everyway they can to get the most money out of you. I cannot wait to move back to Virginia.
