| re: San Diego...No longer a utopia... - 1/6/2008 - 9/23/2008
I moved here from Maui, and I thinks its great. Cost of living is way lower. Food costs are about 50% less, gas 30% less, housing 30% less, wages about the same, availability of jobs is much higher, roads are like utopia.
I was paying $1200 for a small 1 br apartment built onto a house, paying $10 a gal for milk, $4.50 for gas (SD gas is $3.50), $150/ month for electricity (I pay $35 in SD) and the roads are great here compared to the two lane congested freeways in Maui. Whats to complain about?

San Diego isn't easy, but it isn't bad for people with graduate degrees and high-income paying jobs. You just need to be a doctor, a biotech researcher, an engineer, an accountant, or some other good profession.

Would you mind divulging how much you paid for housing in San Diego, and what it is you paid for? I'd like to get some exact numbers so I have a better idea what to expect. (2 BR, 1500 sq. ft., good neighborhood, $2000/month for example)
