The Muslims just build their place of worship here and many Christians have their churches.
Why not start your own place for Jews.
As it is now, they all go to Gainesville or Jacksonville to worship.

Seems like some government agency will soon compel poor Jew-less Lake City to have at least one Jewish family or face some violation of religious/ethnic discrimination or other.

I have lived all over the country from Missouri, Pennsylvania, and have finally found my niche here in Lake City, Florida. I love it here, and with
the church I attend, First Full Gospel Church,I feel as though I have gone
back in time. The people are full of love and trust.The worship is old time
religion with dinners on the grounds and families caring for others times of need. They helped me through some tough cancer years and I know this is where God's love flows freely. I am trying now to write a small book about the generations of these humble christians and their magnificent faith that goes back generations. The area used to be called Watertown. I'd love to hear from anyone who has any history on the area or the people.

i have lived in lake city for 62 years and i,ve seen churches
and different denominations flourish here. i think god for
all he has done for me and my home town.
if you want a good place to raise your children then lake city
is the place.
or if you just want to enjoy retirement you should give lake city a try

Lake City is the not a clean town,if you don't believe me check out the streets,parking lots,city parks and the ditches in and around town.The rednecks put their trash in the back of the pickup and drive down the highway at 60 miles an hour.I lived there I know!Inmate crews spent all day just cleaning the town 7 days a week.[read more...]

Lake City has a wonderful small town feel. People smile, say hello and generally are very nice. It's very "country" and down home like, but it's also a growing commercial area and new businesses are always welcome. Lake City is 45 minutes from Gainesville (home of the University of Florida) and 45 minutes from Jacksonville. Beaches are about an hour east (to the Atlantic) or west (to the Gulf) and this area has the best natural springs around. Property crime rates are high but it's generally confined to certain pockets of town. Housing is very affordable.[read more...]
