There are many areas of New Orleans that were not affected in any major way by the storm. My area, Uptown, only suffered residual fallout from ancillary services not being up to snuff after the storm. For the most part, my career and my family's lives have not been affected.

I'm not sure why the media doesn't report that sort of news. Perhaps they feel it to be incensitive to those whose lives were rattled. A noble jesture, but not journalism in the true sense. All news should be reported to let individuals make up their own mind.
