So lets take a poll, Where is the best places to live? I am single, and 49 enjoy, outdoor activites/lots of water/green places with lots of flowering trees. More of a cold person than a hot humid person...Where do I go from here? Love bicycling(street or greenways), historical downtowns or riverfronts for enjoyment......Wouldn't mind some great coffeehouses/bookstores as well........Any ideas anyone?

Check out Madison, WI. You'll the cold that you like (me too): bone-chilling winters with a reasonable amount of snow (about 40 inches, which rarely melts b4 spring). You will find a world-class univ. that has many opportunities for people of all ages, plus the town is on an Isthmus, surrounded by stunning lakes. The town is VERY bicycle-friendly, with dedicated lanes and relatively considerate drivers. It is most certainly a Tree City USA, and autumn is mind-blowingly beautiful! There are plenty of interesting bookstores, coffeehouses, and so much more. If I could, I'd go back. But my career path is leading me to NC ;+)
