| Its a nice small town. The home prices are good here which is what brought me to this town, the schools are great in my opinion- there are small classes which offers alot of personal attention from teachers. Crime rates are low and it feels like a safe place.
The biggest drawback is that there is not much work in the surrounding area, but its a easy - low traffic commute and there are many larger towns you can drive to in 30 minutes to work nearby.
Winsted is surrounded by lakes and protected forest that offers alot of outdoor recreation, but there is not much for urban recreation.
